Limbe, Cameroon (Face2Face Africa) The municipality of Limbe, which is situated in the Fako Division of the South West Region in the West and Central Africa nation of the Republic of Cameroon, is preparing to host the Limbe Arts and Culture Festival (FESTAC). The festival, titled “Cultural Diversity and Integration,” will take place from April 5-12 at the Limbe community field.
The Government Delegate to the Limbe city council who also doubles as the Chairman of the Steering Committee Mr. Andrew Montanga Monjimba told Face2Face Africa, “This will be the first time the city of Limbe will be organizing such an event. We have been holding several preparatory meetings to make sure that the festival should record a remarkable success.’’
Accompanying Mr. Monjimba to visit the venue for the event, the Chairman of the Sub-committee for Publicity and Communication Mr. Wasso Norbert Binde said, “The visit to the venue of the event by the steering committee members was to ensure and assess the logistic layout and other organization details for a hitch-free celebration.”
The committee that is going to be in charge of animation during the festival, held a very important meeting with focal points who were representing the 10 Regions and the 58 Divisions (Districts) of Cameroon and friendly countries who have pledged their full participation during the festival. The very rich and diversified cultures of these regions and divisions and friendly countries will be showcased at the event.
Meanwhile, the sub-committee for sports will be organizing the Limbe city Njalla Quan International Marathon, which is part of the activities of the festival, according to the chairperson of the sub-committee for sports, Mrs. Pascaline Ekombe.
This marathon will take place on the closing day of the festival and cover a distance of 42 kilometers.
The Limbe FESTAC will be held under the patronage of the Cameroon Minister of Arts and Culture, Ama Tutu Muna.
