Eliud Kipchoge

Kenyan marathoner Eliud Kipchoge has won his fair share of races in a career that has spanned over a decade. He was even a world champion marathon runner at the junior level as well as a senior.

But it had always been Kipchoge’s dream to win one of those 26-mile races with time count under two hours. The opportunity came in 2019 with the Ineos 1:59 Challenge.

And successfully, he did. Kipchoge redefined the human capacity for endurance to run 26 miles under two hours. The record has been listed by the Guinness Book of Records as “fastest man to run a marathon”.

Kimberly Bryant

Tech professional Kimberly Bryant is something of an equal rights champion in the field of tech. That attribute is rare but Bryant has earned her stripes with the now-worldwide phenomenon, Black Girls Code.

Black Girls Code started as a simple initiative to rope in young black women into the American tech culture and industry in 2011. But it blew up, with the strategy duplicated beyond the US.

Bryant was named one of the most influential African-Americans in Tech by Business Insider. In 2019, her stock rose further as she was presented the 2019 SXSW Interactive Festival Hall of Fame award.
