Meet the three African winners of Swizz Beatz’s $100,000 art grant

Apart from being a rapper and producer, Swizz Beatz is also an art collector. Under his Dean Collection, an initiative he set up with his wife Alicia Keys, Beatz (real name Kasseem Dean) set up an art grant for artists across the world.

In announcing the initiative called Dean Collection St(art)ups, Beatz said that the artist would keep all the money from the show they create.

The $100,000 art grant was to be shared among 20 artists, four of whom are from Africa.

According to Beatz, the grant is unrestricted but a winner can also earn $25,000 based on what they will do with the grant.
