Meghan and Harry to share their love story in upcoming Netflix docuseries

Netflix has released the first official trailer for Prince Harry and Meghan’s docuseries, “Harry & Meghan”. The series will look at their love story, from the first time they met to their decision to leave the UK and begin a new life in the U.S.

Volume one of the six-episode docuseries will begin streaming on Netflix on December 8 while volume two will premiere on December 15. In the trailer released, which opens with never-before-seen black and white images of the couple, Harry says, “It’s really hard to look back on it now and go, ‘What on earth happened?'”

“There’s a hierarchy of the family. You know, there’s leaking, but there’s also planting of stories. It’s a dirty game,” he continues. The Duchess of Sussex then says, “I realized, they’re never going to protect you.”

“I was terrified. I didn’t want history to repeat itself,” Harry says, referring to his late mother Princess Diana. “No one knows the full truth. We know the full truth,” Harry adds.

The tell-all docuseries is directed by Liz Garbus, the Emmy-winning producer of the Netflix documentary What Happened, Miss Simone? According to Netflix, “the series explores the clandestine days of their early courtship and the challenges that led to them feeling forced to step back from their full-time roles in the institution.

“With commentary from friends and family, most of whom have never spoken publicly before about what they witnessed, and historians who discuss the state of the British Commonwealth today and the royal family’s relationship with the press, the series does more than illuminate one couple’s love story, it paints a picture of our world and how we treat each other.”

The project comes before the release of Harry’s highly-anticipated memoir, which is expected to hit shelves on January 10, 2023. Last year, Meghan and Prince Harry engaged in an extraordinary interview with Oprah Winfrey where they spoke about their lives inside the palace, including making bombshell revelations about racism within the royal family.

The interview, which dominated international news coverage for days, attracted a blockbuster audience when it was aired in the UK via ITV. It first aired on CBS and attracted some 17 million audiences, according to the Washington Post.
