NBA legend, Michael Jordan, has made it clear he’s not in favor of his 32-year-old son, Marcus, being romantically involved with Larsa Pippen, the 48-year-old ex-wife of his former teammate, Scottie Pippen.
Jordan, 60, was asked about his son’s girlfriend as he was entering a car after having dinner in Paris, TMZ reported. In the video, a photographer is heard asking the former Chicago Bulls player if he approves of his son’s relationship with the Real Housewives of Miami star. Jordan initially laughs in response to the question before saying “No!” after the question is repeated.
The former professional basketball player and businessman also appeared to shake his head after he was asked the same question the third time. According to PEOPLE, Larsa and Marcus confirmed they were dating via Instagram some four months ago. The couple going Instagram official came amid speculations of the pair being romantically involved.
In an interview with Tamron Hall, Larsa opened up about their relationship as well as their age difference. “It’s not about my parents, his parents. They’re all happy. Our whole family’s fine,” she claimed.
She also said she wasn’t perturbed by any rift between Jordan and her ex-husband. “[Scottie] has a right to the way he feels … I live my truth, I’m happy,” she said. “It wasn’t like it was planned, we were just together a lot with our friends and it just so happened.”
The couple also touched on their relationship and the reaction they received from their families in their Separation Anxiety podcast. “I don’t think there was ever any hurdles, I just think there was some shock value to the fact that we were dating,” Marcus said. “Caught maybe some people on my side of the family off guard a little bit.”
Marcus’ father and Pippen were teammates with the Chicago Bulls. Though they won multiple championships for the basketball franchise, their relationship appears to have gone downhill after Pippen registered his displeasure over how he was portrayed in Jordan’s “The Last Dance” Netflix-ESPN documentary. He also criticized Jordan in his “Unguarded” memoir.
