Nigerian financial expert Subomi Plumptre appointed as Forbes Business Council member

Subomi Plumptre, a leading African strategist, financial expert, investor, and social entrepreneur, was recently appointed as a member of the Forbes Business Council, an invitation-only community for renowned business leaders, owners, and experts, allowing top executives and entrepreneurs to build professional skills and gain connections and visibility.

According to the Council, Subomi was selected by the recommendation of a review committee based on the depth and diversity of her skills and experience.

Her recognition stems from over two decades of cumulative business and social entrepreneurship experience and achievements.

Beyond her key role in managing the Volition ecosystem over the last six years, she has a track record in strategy, marketing, investment advisory, and financial education. Her experience and area of focus cuts across wealth management, financial planning, strategic planning, and executive coaching.

Subomi Plumptre is the Co-Founder of Volition Blue (USA) and Volition Cap (Nigeria), through which she is working to bring financial prosperity to the African and Diaspora middle class, with a firm belief that this social group is critical in driving economic growth in Africa.

She designed a fund management model that leverages traditional African cooperatives – an innovative model that earned her a license from the Nigerian Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), making her one of the few female CEOs in the asset management industry.

Subomi Plumptre is championing the growth of middle-class wealth in Africa and the Diaspora.

 “A few years ago, I designed a fund management model that leverages traditional cooperatives. Today, I am one of a few female SEC-licensed asset managers in Africa. The main motivation for my work at Volition Cap (Nigeria) and Volition Blue (USA) is helping Africans create wealth.”

She is the founder of Subomi Plumptre Trust, a social enterprise focused on Opportunity, Freedom, and Culture. Primarily endowed by Subomi, the Trust provides grants to causes and executes flagship projects with measurable impact.

Subomi has published two books on social media and is an Adjunct Faculty member at the University of Lagos, where she teaches entrepreneurship. She is a CSC Leader, Forbes Business Council member, TEDx speaker, Nigeria Leadership Initiative board member, and Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) mentor.
