Hi, Beauties! Primers have gained popularity over the last few years. Still, not everyone uses it or reaps the benefits. Primers can help fill in fine lines, prevent foundation from looking “cakey,” and can help to even out skin tone. Lastly, one of my favorite uses is the longevity it gives to whatever I add on top of the primer and the intensity it gives to anything that has color. For example, if I put primer on my eyelids before I apply eye shadow, my peepers will POP.

How To Use Face Primers…
Use primers after you apply your moisturizer, allowing at least five minutes for the moisturizer to settle in to the skin.
Use a dime-size amount of the primer and apply gently to the skin, paying attention to the under eye area. This will allow any under eye concealer to glide on smoothly.
On Your Eyes:
Urban Decay Love Potion is one of my favorite eye primers. It’s creamy and perfect if you have oily skin, especially on the lids. And a little bit goes a long way! Once you apply, you can add your favorite eye shadow in the morning and by the evening the color still looks fresh. This beauty potion Fill Weight: 11ml e 0.37 US fl oz, $20.
On Your Lips:
There are tons of lip primers on the market that I have grown to love. Right now, I have a few in my kit that my clients absolutely love. If you insist on me picking one, it would be none other than Too Faced! The insurance it provides is worth the premium. Too Faced lip primer glides on your lips, making them feel velvety soft and prepped for whatever you desire to adorn your lips. Net Weight: .15 oz. (Metric: 4.46 g), $20.
On Your Face:
Nars not only has great blushes, but they have a great face primer; Pore Refining Primer is my favorite. This primer is oil-free and redefines the look of any pores. It has a gel formula that helps to keep your skin hydrated and fresh throughout the entire day. For a more radiant finish, mix a few drops of your foundation with the primer and apply as one mixture. 30ml/1 fl.oz, $34.
I love trying and experiencing new products. If you have a product that you’d like for me to try and review or if you have a question, please send me a beauty note at rj@renardajoynyc.com.
Until next time, stay beautiful!
