What started as a normal, maybe boring day at training, later on, turned out to be an extremely fun and motivational session for the players of Arsenal Football Club.
In the video posted by the club’s official Twitter account, the players were surprised with a performance by a group of Rwandan traditional dancers and drummers during their training session. Looking with amazement and excitement, the players cheered the performers on and even joined them dance the Intore.
“We’re here to surprise the Arsenal team with a performance of the Intore dance from Rwanda,” said a narrator in the video. “Intore literally means ‘the chosen one, the best of the best’. The dance symbolizes pride and the chant is a call for victory”.
Take a look at the video below:
Hoping the players got a performance booster after dancing the Intore!
A couple of months ago, Face2Face Africa wrote a piece about the Rwanda Development Board’s three-year partnership with Arsenal. The deal means a new “Visit Rwanda” campaign logo will be featured on the left sleeve of all the Arsenal team players including the first team, under-23 and Arsenal Women during matches from the new season which starts this month.
The players will also visit Rwanda while coaches will host coaching camps for Rwandan boys and girls to support the development of the game.
