With thrilling performances from musical artists, such as Dadson, S.G. Khan, LOL, Daphne, Mr. Leo, and the very highly acclaimed group of 3 boys, the music provided the kind of warmth and ambiance that is usually characteristic of such celebrity events.

Shembeh” is an ancient Fulani love story written and directed by Cosson Chinepoh. It brings out the aspects of tradition, love, and classism when a very wealthy young Fulani herdsman, “Vondeh” acted by Ndiangang Emmanuel, dreams of getting married to the daughter of the Fulani chief “Shembe,” acted by Sende Bende, but is thwarted by the middle-class “Salifuh,” acted by Nkwah Kinsley, whose bravery and gentleness captures the heart of “Shembe.”

“Shembe” eventually escapes to the home of “Salifuh,” which by Fulani custom and tradition automatically makes her his wife without paying a dowry.

“What makes this film special is that it brings out the aspect of Fulani tradition, where getting married to a woman a dowry is paid in cows and not money unlike is the case in our contemporary Cameroonian community.’’ explained actor and producer of the movie Nkwah Kingsley.

The movie is divided into two parts and is nearly two hours long. It was shot on location in the small village of Sabga, found in the North West Region of the republic of Cameroon.

The movie’s projection brought plenty of enthusiasm to those in attendance, with some saying, “Aaaahh, I love it. The natural scenario, the undulating hills, greenery, and the actors and actresses having to act on horseback makes it wonderful.’’

Another commented, “I think this is the first time I am watching a movie created by Cameroonians, where the characters demonstrate their talents on horseback. This is very beautiful, and I hope it continues this way.’’
