The 2020 Sexiest Man Alive is Michael B. Jordan

Michael B. Jordan first caught the world’s attention in 2013 and fast forward to today, he is not only one of our favorite actors but 2020’s Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.

He takes up the mantle from last year’s winner, John Legend, which makes him the 35th man to be honored by the magazine. Jordan revealed his People magazine cover on his Jimmy Kimmel cameo Tuesday, saying that the women in his family will be excited about this since they all follow the listing keenly.

The women in his family “are definitely proud of this one,” he said. “When my grandmother was alive, it was something that she collected, and then my mom naturally reads it a lot and my aunts as well. This is one that they’re definitely going to have a special place for,” he said.

About being named the Sexiest Man Alive, Jordan said, “it’s a cool feeling”, adding that he feels honored to join the likes of John Legend, Idris Elba and The Rock.

“You know, everybody always made that joke, like, ‘Mike, this is the one thing you’re probably not going to get.’ But it’s a good club to be a part of,” he told People.

The 33-year-old actor, who won us over in Fruitvale Station, The Creed and as the villain, Killmonger, in Black Panther, is gearing up to star in Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse.

His characters always have a story to tell and off-screen, he uses his voice for real change in the world. Outlier Society Productions, his production company, was the first to put an inclusion caveat that requires filmmakers to use a diverse cast and crew in productions.

Jordan has been on the forefront of the Black Lives Matter campaign and the recent elections urging people to use their votes to make a change.

“I think there’s a time and a place for everything,” he said. “I’ve been picking my moments to make the most impact. We can all take action—big or small—to help create the change we want to see.”

Jordan sees himself doing more behind the scenes work in 10 years’ time and hopes to be “directing a little more, acting less, producing a lot more.”

He credits his family for his success as they have played and still play very instrumental roles in his life. He would one day love to have a family of his own, he said.
