The Trayvon Martin documentary titled, Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story, executive produced by rapper Jay-Z debuted yesterday.
The documentary premiered on the Paramount Network. The six-part series examines the circumstances leading to the murder of Martin and is described as a story about “race, politics, power, money and the U.S. criminal justice system.”
Sybrina Fulton and Tracy Martin are also credited as producers.
Well, the story relayed in the documentary is clearly at the dismay of others.
According to a private investigator hired by Jay-Z, George Zimmerman – Martin’s killer has been stalking and harassing individuals associated with the project.
Private investigator, Dennis Warren filed documents in court at the Seminole, Florida contending that the killer engaged in menacing and stalking tendencies.
Zimmerman apparently called Warren 55 times, left 36 voicemails, texted him 67 times and sent 27 emails within a nine-day timespan.
When questioned by police investigators, Zimmerman supposedly remarked, “What are you calling me for you fu*king whore!?” and “You have been involved with me since that Martin kid!”
Zimmerman also threatened to “feed Jay-Z to alligators.”
In a strange turn of events, Zimmerman has issued a subpoena asking for the names and personal information of those involved in the formulation of the documentary.
The request was denied and Zimmerman pleaded not guilty to stalking charges.
Rest in Power: The Trayvon Martin Story will air the following episodes weekly. The last part of the series is due to air on September 3.
