These DIY green tea face masks will level up your beauty regimen

For many years, people have drunk green tea for all its health benefits. I bet it has not occurred to many the benefits that can be derived from applying green tea to the skin. Yes, it works wonders both in the body and on the body.

Internally, it improves the brain’s function and digestion, as well as protecting the heart and promoting weight loss. In the same way, green tea face packs will help keep your skin healthy.

The Chinese and Japanese were into green tea before the rest of the world caught up, but it has not stopped us from enjoying the benefits of the tea, especially with regards to the skin.

It helps prevent UV-induced skin issues because it protects the skin from UV rays. It is said to have medicinal benefits that protect the skin from cancer as well. Research shows that it prevents induced carcinogenesis otherwise known as cancer formation.

Again, excessive sebum causes acne and green tea reduces excessive sebum secretion and it also reduces inflammation. Green tea has anti-aging properties that prevent dullness of the skin whiles reducing lines and wrinkles which are signs of premature aging.

With that being said, here are some go-to green tea face masks that you must definitely include in your beauty regimen.

For combination or normal skin, try these:

Orange peel and Green Tea

Ingredients

1 tablespoon green tea

1 tablespoon orange peel powder

½ teaspoon honey

Combine the ingredients until you get a coarse mixture.

Apply this mixture to your face and gently scrub your face in circular motions.

Leave it on for about 15 minutes.

Rinse your face with warm water and pat dry.

Repeated 1-2 times a week.

Tumeric and green tea

Ingredients

1 teaspoon chickpea flour

¼ teaspoon turmeric

2 teaspoons freshly brewed green tea

Combine the ingredients until you get a smooth mixture.

Apply this mixture to your face. Avoid getting too close to your eyes and mouth.

Leave the mixture on for about 15-20 minutes.

Rinse it off with cool water and pat your skin dry.

Repeated 1-2 times a week.

For the Oily skin types, here is your mojo.

Lemon and green tea

Ingredients

1 tablespoon freshly brewed green tea

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

Blend the ingredients and apply this mixture (as a toner) to your face. Avoid getting too close to your eyes and mouth.

Leave it on for about 10 minutes.

Rinse the mixture off with cool water and pat your skin dry.

Do this once a day.

Rice flour and green tea

Ingredients

2 tablespoons rice flour

1 tablespoon green tea

1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

Combine the ingredients until you get a smooth mixture.

Apply this mixture to your face. Avoid getting too close to your eyes and mouth.

Leave it on for about 15 minutes or until it is dry.

Rinse it off with cool water and pat your skin dry.

Certainly not forgetting the dry skin types:

Avocado and green tea

1 ripe avocado – mashed

2 teaspoons green tea

Method

Combine the ingredients until you get a smooth mixture.

Apply this mixture to your face. Avoid getting too close to your eyes and mouth.

Leave the mixture on for about 15-20 minutes.

Rinse the mixture off with cool water and pat your skin dry.

Repeat 1-2 times a week.

Honey and green tea

2 tablespoons raw honey

1 tablespoon green tea

Method

Combine the ingredients and apply the mixture to your face.

Leave it on for about 15-20 minutes.

Rinse it off with cool water and pat your skin dry.

Repeat once a week.
