U.S. Air Force Senior Airman accused of raping 11-year-old girl he met online

Authorities in Alabama have accused a Florida airman of raping an 11-year-old girl he met on the dating app, Badoo. U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Keith Williams, 25, allegedly traveled from Florida to Decatur, Alabama, to meet and rape the juvenile.

According to Northwest Florida Daily News, the alleged incident occurred in October 2020 but the minor’s parents only got to know after four months. Per an affidavit filed at the Morgan County District Court in Alabama, the victim’s father became aware of what had happened after Williams sent her daughter a Facebook friend’s request on February 12.

In a bid to know who Williams was, the victim’s father pretended to be the juvenile and asked the accused, “Do I know you?” Williams allegedly replied with, “(Name redacted) from Badoo? The accused then went ahead to provide details on what the juvenile was wearing on the night of the alleged rape and how the home’s backyard looked like. Besides that, the affidavit reportedly states that Williams made some sexually explicit comments in reference to the victim and made mention of the rape. He also wrote, “Ima (I’m going to) definitely marry you in the future lol (laughing out loud).”

“He also told the juvenile he lives in Florida because that is where he works but can leave his job every now and then,” the affidavit added.

Following the Facebook interaction, the juvenile’s mother asked her about the incident and the minor confirmed Williams had indeed come to their residence in October to meet her. The Decatur Police Department subsequently opened an investigation into the case after they were informed about the incident, Northwest Florida Daily News reported.

During an interview, the victim disclosed she met Williams on the Badoo dating app and also confirmed his identity via his Facebook profile photo. Williams was subsequently arrested in Florida and extradited to Decatur on May 15. He faces a slew of charges including first-degree rape, electronic solicitation of a child and traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.

Williams faces 10 years to life in prison for the first-degree rape charge and between two and 20 years in prison if found guilty of electronic solicitation of a child. He also faces up to life in prison if he’s found guilty of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act.

Williams is currently out on a $60,000 bond. He is, however, under the supervision of the Air Force and cannot leave the state of Alabama.
