Barack Obama’s trip to South Africa for the centenary celebration of Nelson Mandela’s birthday has been very worthwhile and historic.
Following his insightful speech at the Nelson Mandela Annual Lecture at the Wanderers Stadium on Tuesday, the former US president had a town hall meeting with the 200 members of the inaugural class of Leaders: Africa in Johannesburg on Wednesday.
Whilst speaking to the students at the meeting, Obama advocated for women to be empowered more on the continent because men have been getting on his nerves lately.
“Women in particular, by the way, I want you to get more involved,” he said in the video shared by CNN. “Because men have been getting on my nerves lately. Every day I read the newspaper and I just think like ‘brothers what’s wrong with you guys? What’s wrong with us?’ I mean, we’re violent, we’re bullying. You know, just not handling our business,” Obama added.
