Why St. Martin is the culinary capital of the Caribbean where you won’t leave hungry

Many people go on vacation for various reasons. Some travel for pure leisure, others to distress while others are just adventurous. Then there are food lovers who want to sample some of the world’s best foods from different places. It is so important that some keep a checklist of these meals and the best places to have them.

The Caribbean is a favorite vacation destination and these islands mostly depend on tourism to survive. These islands are also known for their exotic meals and flavors served both in restaurants and at street stalls.

Some may wonder which of the Caribbean islands makes the cut as the culinary capital for a foodie who has good palates and wants the best of every bite or drink they have?

Well, according to observers, “the Mecca of Caribbean food” for gourmands is St Martin. The French-Caribbean island boasts of “more great restaurants in one place than in any other area of the Caribbean.”

There are several “unmatched chefs” on almost every block and an unassuming narrow boulevard on a little beach town where “walls are covered in years of salt water and cars fight people for space” serves all the great Caribbean delicacies with a French twist and the plating and serving is top-notch.

Known as the Grand Case, the town gets almost all the world’s amazing culinary artists passing through. Although most eating joints and restaurants are French-Caribbean, there are some that maintain their classic Creole menus.

This walkable food gallery found in what may be described as an old Creole village offers so “great flavors and culinary energies in the Caribbean- jerk, the heartiness of Virgin Island fungi, the force of Haitian griot, the tang of smoked marlin from Guadeloupe.”

Be on the lookout for gratis, home-made infused punches, and rum-based sweet drinks that go perfectly with every meal.

Every foodie’s dream destination is St Martin. There are so many eateries but each of them offers finger-licking meals that are bursting with flavors.
