Year of Return: These mouthwatering Ghanaian dishes are a must-try before you leave

The Year of Return has seen a significant number of diasporans and other Africans thronging the West African nation to partake in the series of activities marking the 400th anniversary of the arrival of the first enslaved Africans in America.

According to figures from the Year of Return Secretariat, the number of arrivals from the United States, Britain, as well as other key target nations increased by 80,862 for the first nine months as compared to the year before.

“Although not all the 80,862 passengers could be classified as tourists, the YoR impact has undoubtedly surged interest in Ghana among Diasporan Africans in the UK and the USA since the programme got underway,” the YoR Secretariat said.

With tourists visiting for various purposes including entertainment and enlightenment, it can confidently be said that the yearlong event has been worthwhile.

As the year comes to an end, the lineup of activities during the Christmas and New Year celebrations has shifted to more of a relaxed one with a series of concerts and parties lined up.
