Face2face Africa is proud to be the official media partner to Brussels’ Bike For Africa, North America Edition, a charity biking tour between Niagara Falls and NYC, hosted by Brussels Airlines’ b.foundation.
Africa is an incredibly important market for the Lufthansa Group. As the « Africa specialist », the continent holds a special place in the hearts of all Brussels Airlines employees. For this reason, the company continues to give back to local African communities.
Bike For Africa started in 2011 by the company’s Social Responsibility Program, the b.foundation, to give a helping hand to a number of NGOs and humanitarian projects that share the same passion for Africa.
Last year, twenty Belgian business leaders together with 45 Brussels Airlines employees cycled 400km from Dakar (Senegal) to Banjul (The Gambia) for the third edition of Bike for Africa. The group raised €150,000 to support three local and Belgian humanitarian projects and to raise awareness about the potential of the African continent in the aftermath of the Ebola crisis.
This is the first time Bike for Africa is coming to North America. You are invited to experience this unique opportunity to embark on the ride of your life, along with other North American and European bikers, for a noble cause. The bike tour will start on October 8th in Niagara Falls and finish on October 13th in New York City.
This year’s benefiting organizations are the Georgie Badiel Foundation and Malaika .
The Georgie Badiel Foundation, founded by Burkinabe model and activist Georgie Badiel, is a not-for-profit charitable organization that provides access to clean drinking water in Burkina Faso. The organization has provided access to clean drinking water to over 75,000 people since its launch.
Malaika, founded by Noella Coursaris Musunka, is committed to empowering Congolese girls and their communities through education. Based in New York, the organization operates in the village of Kalebuka, in the Southeastern region of the Democratic Republic of Congo.
