It is not a hidden fact that money can coerce people into doing some regrettable things. Though this may not always be the contributing factor, it almost always plays a significant role in decision making, be it good or bad.
Put money aside, it is always very critical to think about the consequences of your actions if you find yourself in situations where a decision you may take might have a negative effect on what you stand for, your career or the people around you.
Let’s take African-American musician Chrisette Michele for instance. Her decision to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration ceremony, which was largely disapproved by the black community as well as her black peers came with devastating consequences for her.
Though she came out to apologize afterwards saying she regrets everything that happened and admitting that it was a bad choice, her decision to perform has by large had a devastating effect on her career.
Other black artists, who got caught in a situation similar to hers, however, adamantly refused and rejected offers and approaches and stood by their convictions.
In light of this, Face2Face Africa would like to highlight some of these commendable personalities.
