Most controversial songs by black musicians in 2018

Music, as they say, is subjective. What may sound and/or look pleasing to one may sound the exact opposite to the other. Additionally, there are laws in respective countries that regulate musical content as well as visuals for music videos in order to mitigate profanity, vulgar lyrics, content that might incite violence and so on.

In as much as the year saw the release of exceptionally good music both on the motherland and in the diaspora, there were quite a few songs that raised some eyebrows either from the general public or authorities due to its questionable content or controversies surrounding it.

Keep in mind that some of these bans and controversies, however, were generally seen as too over-the-top.

To wrap up the year, Face2Face Africa shares with you some of the most controversial songs by black musicians in 2018.
