Singer Ciara accepted into Harvard Business School

We are barely halfway into 2019 but singer Ciara has been able to chalk up quite a considerable amount of achievements and it looks like she’s not going to slow down anytime soon. Riding on the success of her seventh studio album Beauty Marks which was released just a few weeks ago, the singer is set to embark on another exciting career path after she announced she has gained admission to Harvard University‘s Business of Entertainment, Media and Sports program.

Taking to her Instagram page, the Level Up singer could not hide her joy as she shared the news with her fans with a photo of her wearing a Harvard sweatshirt.

“I always dreamt of going to college, but by God’s grace, my music career took me on a path that I’m so thankful for,” she wrote.

“This week I got accepted into Harvard! Words cannot describe my excitement!”

She also thanked Professor Anita Elberse, the Lincoln Filene Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School for the “once in a lifetime opportunity.” Professor Elberse, according to her profile on the school’s page “develops and teaches an MBA course covering the “Businesses of Entertainment, Media, and Sports,” and it “ranks among the most sought-after courses in the School’s curriculum.”

As a student, the Harvard BEMS program will afford Ciara the opportunity to learn how to “develop and execute more effective business strategies,” “debate and analyze the business and technology trends that are redefining the industry,” and also “learn how to launch and manage creative products and portfolios more strategically.”

This move seems like a step in the right direction for the 33-year-old songstress as she looks at growing her Beauty Marks Entertainment record label from a business standpoint.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight in April, Ciara touched on why she established her ownand the business reason behind it.

“It was huge. I had dreamt of making my own label for a while,” she said. “In this stage in my career, you’ve worked so hard so you really want to fully benefit from the work of your labor. So that’s what this moment is about for me. It’s about ownership, it’s about self-empowerment also, it’s not only myself, but also young girls and people around the world.”

“This is the best feeling,” Ciara added. “I’ve been able to learn so much on this new chapter.”
