Marvel on Monday revealed the official title and release date for the highly-anticipated “Black Panther” sequel in a new trailer celebrating Marvel movies.
In the three-minute trailer titled, “Marvel Studios Celebrates the Movies”, the title of the new Black Panther was revealed as Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. It is scheduled to be released in theatres on July 8, 2022.
According to Marvel.com, the Ryan Coogler written and directed movie, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, will be a continuum of the first installment and will explore the amazing world of Wakanda.
In December, Marvel Studios announced that the film would not recast Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa character in its next installment. This followed the unfortunate death of Boseman in August.
Lupita Nyong’o (Nakia), Letitia Wright (Shuri), Danai Gurira (Okoye), Winston Duke (M’Baku) and Daniel Kaluuya (W’Kabi) are to return for the next installment.
The megatrailer released Monday also gave viewers a first look at Chloé Zhao’s “Eternals,” which is arriving November 5. It further revealed the title of Brie Larson’s “Captain Marvel” sequel, “The Marvels,” arriving November 11, 2022.
The official titles and release dates for other upcoming Marvel movies such as “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings” and “Thor: Love and Thunder” were also featured.
The “Black Panther” movie has inspired many initiatives to empower African Americans and Blacks in general.
Though the movie is entirely fictional, the crew made sure certain African aesthetics were added to it to give it that necessary African touch and feel. After all, the movie is based on an African superhero and a fictional African country so it’s just right.
