The highly anticipated Black Panther movie was released in cinemas worldwide over the weekend much to positive reviews from viewers and critics. I was privileged enough to watch the pre-screening on Thursday, February 15, in Accra, Ghana with my colleagues courtesy our boss (thanks, Sandra!).
Long story short, this is one of the best movies I have ever watched. The ambience and excitement in the cinema was so unforgettable. For a high budget sci-fi movie based on an African superhero, I can say with confidence Black Panther lived up to its expectations and hype.
Though the movie is entirely fictional, the crew made sure certain African aesthetics were added to it to give it that necessary African touch and feel. After all, the movie is based on an African superhero and a fictional African country so it’s just right. From fashion, hair, language (just to mention a few), allow me to spotlight 5 real African moments in Black Panther.
