Nkongsamba, Cameroon (Face2Face Africa) Catholic bishops of the Republic of Cameroon have strongly condemned the repeated and deadly attacks of Nigerian militant Islamic sect Boko Haram in the north of Cameroon.

The Catholic bishops made the declaration at the end of their 39th annual seminar known as the Episcopal Council that was held under the title “Consecrated Life” in the city of Nkongsamba.
The declaration was read out by the National President of the Episcopal Council of Cameroon, the Archbishop of the diocese of Douala, Mgr. Samuel Klyda.
Mgr. Klyda went further to invoke God Almighty in transforming the hearts of the terrorists so that they may know the virtues of peace and justice. There was also a solidarity call from the bishops toward the suffering victims who have been displaced from their homes.
While closing the seminar, the Apostolic Nuncio to Cameroon, Mgr. Piro Pipo, challenged the bishops and Christians to give meaning to the title of the seminar by being of high moral standard and also leading a life that reflects the gospel they preach.
High-profile personalities, such as the Governor of the Littoral Region, Joseph Beti Assomo, who represented the Head of State, Paul Biya, attended the closing ceremony of the bishops’ conference that was crowned by the celebration of a pontifical mass.
