Oprah Winfrey is knocking on doors to make Georgia woman America’s first black governor [Video]

Things are getting heated up with just a few days to the gubernatorial elections in the United States as candidates are going above and beyond in their campaigns to garner votes.

With so much at stake and with the currently “tensed up” political atmosphere, this comes as no surprise.

The race for the Georgia seat between Democrat Stacey Abrams and Republican Brian Kemp has been very interesting and very well publicized due to the barriers the former could break if she wins.

Being the first-ever black female nominee for governor in the United, Abrams, 44, could further make history as the first black woman to be elected governor in the U.S. as well as the first black governor and female governor to serve in Georgia if she wins on November 6.

Knowing what is at stake, Abrams is clearly leaving no stones unturned in her campaign and she has the full support of some influential personalities including the Obamas and Oprah Winfrey.

On Thursday, Oprah joined Abrams in Georgia to campaign where she delivered a very powerful speech to an audience in Marietta. She also cleared the air about running for president.

“I am here because I want you to remind others of the power and I want to make it very clear to all the press, everybody, I’m not here because I’m making some grandstand because I’m thinking about running myself, I don’t want to run, OK?” she said to a laughing audience.

“I’m here today because of Stacey Abrams,” she added. “I’m here today because of the men and because of the women who were lynched, who were humiliated, who were discriminated against, who were suppressed, who were repressed and oppressed for the right, for the equality at the polls. And I want you to know that their blood has seeped into my DNA and I refuse to let their sacrifices be in vain,” she continued.

She also went door to door with Abrams to canvass for votes.

Wishing Abrams the very best of luck on November 6!
