February 4 is a day set aside to commemorate World Cancer Day. The day, founded by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC), is aimed at raising awareness about the disease.
According to UICC, World Cancer Day “aims to save millions of preventable deaths each year by raising awareness and education about cancer, and pressing governments and individuals across the world to take action against the disease.”
The disease has claimed the lives of people from all walks of life.
