Jessani, the woman seen in the viral video dancing intimately on stage with Nigerian artist Omah Lay, has responded to the controversy on social media, lamenting that she has been inundated with insults and death threats.

The video captures the musician engaging in intimate dance moves with Jessani, who is reportedly the girlfriend of a fan attending the concert. The incident occurred during Omah Lay’s UK concert on Tuesday, February 20, when he invited Jessani onto the stage.

Following the incident, Jessani addressed the backlash during a TikTok live session, revealing that she has faced insults and death threats from netizens. She publicly apologized to her boyfriend, expressing remorse for not anticipating the repercussions of her dance with Omah Lay on stage.

“The amount of hate I am getting, insults and death threats and a whole lot of things I have not heard before and they keep coming.”

“I want to publicly apologize to him although we have spoke privately. If I knew it would get this far, I wouldn’t even have gone to the concert because this is not right, the hate I’m receiving,” Jessani said during her live session.

Jessani rejected rumors suggesting she is Fafa, asserting that she and her boyfriend had previously agreed that she would go on stage if Omah Lay called her.

She explained that she was swept up in the moment when her favorite artist invited her onstage, and her boyfriend had not objected to it.

“Also, me and him we have had private conversations about going on stage with Omah Lay because he [Omah Lay] does this at his shows at his past concerts. We use to have conversation and I tell him if I was to get called on stage, I will go on stage and he said that’s fine. Me and him never had an issue with me going on stage,” she added.

She also disclosed that she bought the tickets for the concert personally.
