The women’s basketball game between Ole Miss and South Carolina demonstrated the strength of female support for one another. During the Sunday event, the ladies got violent on the court, and one of the Ole Miss Rebels, Marquesha Davis, ended up spread out on the floor, according to People.

As soon as Davis hit the floor, her wig flew off her head, and the other ladies on the court gathered around her to give her time to adjust it before the game resumed.

The video was posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, immediately after Davis hit the floor. Since then, it has received over 3 million views and over 38,000 likes from female fans who support the players for putting aside their game to support another woman.

The video piqued the interest of South Carolina’s head coach, Dawn Staley, who complimented the moment after the game, responding to the viral incident and applauding both teams on their actions.

Staley wrote on X, “This warms my heart! My @GamecockWBB babies met the moment with the kindness and understanding I see everyday. @OleMissWBB were all locked hands in a united front. This is WBB at its finest. Love this! WE ARE WBB!!!”

Many social media users were also relieved that, while the camera captured the sweet moment when the players huddled around Davis as she fixed her hair, it then swept away to film the crowd, the players on the bench, and the coaches rather than continuing to capture footage of what was going on on the court, allowing everyone privacy.

Others praised the players’ maturity, and some commented on how great it was to see sisterhood among women.

Following the hair hitch, both crews laughed it off and resumed the task at hand.

The Rebels ended up losing 85-56 despite their best efforts, falling short against the Gamecocks.
