Meet Lori Smith, a consultant, author, mentor, and speaker with a background as an Air Force Veteran and over 40 years of experience in Government Procurement and Contracting.

She is the founder and CEO of Acu-Elligent LLC, a leading Black-owned business coaching and management consulting firm. The company is dedicated to helping companies to successfully and profitably operate in the complex and unique government contracting marketplace, she said.

With a team of experienced professionals, the company provides mentorship, training as well as strategic guidance to businesses hoping to grow in the government contracting sector.

Smith recently launched a program called GovCon Revenue Strategy to help other Black entrepreneurs get access to federal government contracts.

“Our goal with GovCon Revenue Strategy is to level the playing field for small businesses in government contracting,” she said in a release cited by Black News. “We’re providing the insider knowledge and proven strategies that can transform a small business into a successful government contractor.”

Per the release, key features of GovCon Revenue Strategy include: a step-by-step roadmap for navigating the complexities of government contracts; strategies for identifying hidden opportunities and leveraging set-aside programs; rechniques for building valuable relationships with agency contacts; and guidance on crafting winning proposals that justify premium pricing.

In addition to the GovCon Revenue program, Smith has also published “GovCon Revenue Strategy: The Ultimate Guide for Small Businesses to Win Higher-Priced Contracts”, a guide which aims to change how small businesses, particularly minority-owned enterprises, approach and succeed in the federal contracting marketplace, the release said.

“Government and corporate contracts offer a reliable revenue stream and the opportunity to enhance your business’s industry reputation,” she said on her website. “My background as a Procurement decision maker and Contracting Officer, overseeing portfolios valued as high as $100 billion, equips me with the insights needed to position your business for success in these areas.”

“My expertise extends to assisting small businesses in successfully securing government and corporate contracts, making the seemingly complex process more accessible. My consulting experience covers the entire contracting process, providing comprehensive support to businesses seeking government and corporate contracts,” said Smith, who has experience in Construction, IT, Maintenance/Janitorial, Professional Training and development, and Managed Healthcare Services.
