Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook, is showing off his musical skills in his latest collaboration with singer T-Pain on a cover of the song “Get Low” by Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz.
According to the Guardian, Lil Jon and the East Side Boyz released the song “Get Low” in 2002 as part of the rap group’s Kings Of Crunk album.
Zuckerberg said he recorded the song under the band name Z-Pain as an ode to his wife, Priscilla Chan, in honor of their “dating anniversary”.
The 40-year-old tech entrepreneur shared on Instagram, “Get Low was playing when I first met Priscilla at a college party, so every year we listen to it on our dating anniversary. This year I worked with T-Pain on our own version of this lyrical masterpiece.”
His post included a picture of the lyrics, a picture of Zuckerberg and T-Pain holding up acoustic guitars on the album cover, and many pictures of the two of them in a recording studio.
In addition, Zuckerberg informed followers that the song was accessible on Spotify, concluding the post with the words “Love you P.”
In response, his wife, 39, said in the comments, “Can’t get quite as low anymore but more in love and grateful for that love than ever. Love you MZ.”
T-Pain also posted on Instagram, “Z-Pain has arrived. Get Low by Zuck and Me out now.”
Billboard recounts that news of a possible collaboration broke on November 12 when the Meta founder took to his Instagram Story to share a shot of the pair with the description, “It’s happening guys.”
Later, T-Pain posted the same image and said, “It is time,” referring to Zuckerberg as “Z.”
According to the outlet, Zuckerberg and T-Pain have developed a friendship over the past few years, and in May 2021, the former even made an appearance in one of the musician’s Instagram livestreams.
This was after T-Pain had indicated that he never knew about the “Requests” section on Instagram DMs as he was now seeing unread messages from stars like Jamie Foxx.
The singer went on to invite Zuckerberg onto a live call to urge him to make certain changes to his platform.
“I heard you were having some trouble with your DMs and I think I can help with that,” Zuckerberg said.
T-Pain told him about his problems with DMs and asked the tech entrepreneur to begin notifying users about all messages to enable them avoid the mistake he made.
But Zuckerberg told him that the feature was there as a safety measure.
In July this year, T-Pain also gave Zuckerberg a Nappy Boy Meta chain. The tech titan uploaded a video of himself wearing the chain and calling it “a vibe.”
He added, “Thanks @tpain for the epic new chain. Perfect opportunity to show how the new Segment Anything AI research model we’re releasing today can track different objects in the same video. Lots of fun video effects will be possible with this.”
T-Pain replied to the video: “Looks great on you buddy, thanks for being a great friend.”
Zuckerberg responded, “It’s a great chain! Looking forward to more adventures ahead.”
Netizens have since lauded the billionaire’s actions, with some saying, “Who said romance was dead?!” another questioned, “Bro’s a musician?!”
