Authorities in Chicago have arrested a 36-year-old man accused of repeatedly stealing from the same retail store. According to Fox News, police said Donte Elbert has robbed that retail store 11 times between December 2022 and April 2023.

In a statement, the Chicago Police Department said the suspect was arrested on Monday after formal complaints were signed by a worker at the store. “He was taken into custody because he tried to pass the last point of sale…without paying for merchandise,” a Chicago Police Department representative told the news outlet.

Elbert is also accused of stealing merchandise from a different establishment. He has since been charged with nine felony counts of retail theft of merchandise less than $300, three felony counts of retail theft of merchandise, with a value of more than $300, and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespassing.

The case is still under investigation.
