Christina Johnson, 27, went missing on March 6 after she took her dog Max for a walk. And though her dog was found 10 days later, Houston authorities are yet to locate Christina.
In an interview with KHOU, Christina’s father, Emmanuel Johnson, said her daughter’s disappearance has created “real confusion and a sense of loss right now.” He’s also eager to locate her. “I don’t understand where she is,” he said.
Christina’s 10-year-old dog was found around Briar Forest, which was six miles away from his owner’s Alief home. Her father said there’s no way she’ll abandon her dog under such circumstances.
Emmanuel also said his daughter’s daily ritual involved going to work at a Jack in the Box along Dairy Ashford or the Hackberry Community Center. He said his daughter always carried her computer and also went to those locations with her dog.
“She usually comes home before the evening but didn’t come back that evening,” said Emmanuel.
Christina attended West Virginia’s Alderson Broaddus University and is a former tennis champion, KHOU reported. Emmanuel said her daughter was in the process of deciding what to subsequently do after graduating and coming back home.
He said there was no way Christina would be away for that long, adding that she would also not abandon her dog. “She always has Max with her. The fact we find Max but not her is very alarming,” Emmanuel said, adding that the 10-year-old dog is “rough right now.”
“And he’s been out six or seven days on his own and he’s a house dog, never been on his own like that,” he continued. “Something ain’t right. Obviously, she’s in danger.”
Authorities in Houston are currently searching for her.
