A WNBA game was interrupted for the third time in a week after another neon green sex toy was thrown onto the court. Per the Indianapolis Star, the incident occurred during Tuesday’s game between the Indiana Fever and Los Angeles Sparks.
The sex toy was thrown onto the court from the stands in the second quarter after Sparks guard Kelsey Plum shot free throws. The object seemingly made contact with Fever guard Sophie Cunningham, and she distanced herself when she realized it was a sex toy.
Plum booted the object to the sidelines before towels were quickly used to cover it. Several security guards also quickly made their way to the baseline stairs to try and locate the fan who threw the sex toy.
“We don’t know who those people are,” Fever guard Kelsey Mitchell said after the game. “We are the product. We like to think that we come to play the game and people want to see us play. I think it’s just that simple, man, we can’t control everybody’s actions. To the person or people who think, you know, it’s cool, that’s up to you, to the higher power, I don’t think you’re praying for it. But for us, we keep the main thing the main thing, I think it’s about the basketball for both teams.”

As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, the first neon green sex toy was thrown onto the court during the July 29 WNBA game between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries. The second one was thrown onto the court when the Chicago Sky faced off against the Valkyries on August 1.
On Saturday, the WNBA announced that the fan who threw the dildo onto the court during the league game between the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries had been arrested, The Associated Press reported.
“The safety and well-being of everyone in our arenas is a top priority for our league. Objects of any kind thrown onto the court or in the seating area can pose a safety risk for players, game officials, and fans,” the WNBA said in a statement.
“In line with WNBA Arena Security Standards, any fan who intentionally throws an object onto the court will be immediately ejected and face a minimum one-year ban in addition to being subject to arrest and prosecution by local authorities.”
Sky’s Elizabeth Williams also described the August 1 incident as “super disrespectful.” “I don’t really get the point of it. It’s really immature. Whoever is doing it needs to grow up,” she added.
“ARENA SECURITY?! Hello??!” New York Liberty forward Isabelle Harrison also shared on social media. “Please do better. It’s not funny. never was funny. Throwing ANYTHING on the court is so dangerous.”
