Janice Combs, the mother of rapper Diddy, was hospitalized in South Florida due to chest pains, days after it was revealed that Diddy is under federal investigation amid legal issues and sexual assault lawsuits.
The 83-year-old matriarch was rushed to the hospital on Wednesday and will remain under observation, though the cause of the pain remains unclear, according to TMZ. Diddy, born Sean Combs, was in Miami when his mother was hospitalized. Insiders report that he rushed to the hospital to be by her side at her request.
TMZ’s sources said: “He’s her comfort in this.” Janice believes her chest pains are related to stress over her son Diddy’s legal troubles, including a federal investigation and multiple civil lawsuits, according to insiders. A source told NBC News that doctors have run some tests, but the diagnosis is still unknown. The source said “they think stress is a factor.”
Though she doesn’t live with Diddy as she has her own home in Miami, she has been seen with him frequently since federal raids on his properties. This incident follows reports that a former porn star is suing Diddy for billions, alleging he trafficked her to party guests and threatened to blackmail her if she didn’t comply.
Adria English, known by her stage name Omunique, claims she met Diddy in 2004 during her boyfriend’s audition for a Sean John modeling gig. She alleges that at Diddy’s parties, she was given alcohol laced with narcotics and asked to flirt with guests.
English accuses the 54-year-old rapper of grooming her for sex trafficking and instructing her to have sex with Jacob Arabov, also known as ‘Jacob the Jeweler.’
Jacob Arabov and Tamiko Thomas, who is accused of facilitating the sex trafficking operation, as well as Diddy’s entertainment company Bad Boy, are listed as defendants in the lawsuit filed in New York on Wednesday.
English is suing Diddy and his alleged co-conspirators for $50 billion, according to the federal lawsuit obtained by DailyMail.com.
She claims Diddy promised to help advance her music career by joining a girl group, but instead made forceful demands and threatened to blacklist her and her boyfriend from the industry if they did not comply. Initially, the first party she attended in 2004 appeared to be a legitimate employment opportunity without any requirements for physical sexual contact.
However, on subsequent visits to his Hampton Estates, she alleges that she and other trafficked individuals were given clothes to wear for the parties and instructed to provide lap dances and be sexually flirtatious with guests.
