2 Chainz is an American rapper, entrepreneur, and actor. He shot into the limelight after he made his major label debut, which topped many music charts. Since then, 2 Chainz has transitioned from music to entrepreneurship, with multiple businesses across food, beauty, and sports.
He is the founder of Esco Restaurant and Tapas, which he launched six years ago with his business partner Mychel “Snoop” Dillard. Today, the business has three locations, as well as a seafood restaurant, throughout metro Atlanta. He is also reportedly starting to franchise in other markets. In addition to Esco Restaurant and Tapas, he owns the upscale spa, Pamper Nail Salon, which offers full treatments like lashes, make-up, and male grooming. He also runs a podcast show called Me and Halo with his son talking about their relationship and sports.
“His spirit, timing, and the way he asks questions or retains information is not normal for a kid his age,” 2 Chainz said. “Other kids can look at a kid their age being mature, and hopefully that can start a wave of more mature, young black males.”
2 Chainz has a history with the NBA. He is a former basketball standout for Alabama State University and recently became an investor in the sport. In 2019, he became a minority owner of the College Park Skyhawks, which is affiliated with the G-league under the NBA franchise Atlanta Hawks.
He also secured a partnership and joint venture with Atlantic Records for his record label, T.R.U. (The Real University) Records, that same year. In addition to his business ventures, he has been featured in some movies, including the crime thriller The Enforcer, and was the host of the lavish series, Most Expensivist.
His business acumen saw him recently named Krystal’s first-ever head of creative marketing. According to BET, he will spearhead Krystal’s new edgy Side Chik campaign, featuring three assortments of chicken sandwiches.
“I came along not knowing much but knowing that I have a really powerful influence,” 2 Chainz said. “Over the years, I’ve learned about hospitality and what it takes to run a good business. That on my resume made it easier for me to take on the job with Krystal. “

2 Chainz was born Tauheed Epps on September 12th, 1977 in College Park, Georgia. He grew up in an impoverished neighborhood, like several black musicians. He graduated with a second class in high school and continued to Alabama State University on a scholarship.
