Samini To Perform at 2014 F.A.C.E. List Awards

Ghanaian dancehall and reggae artist Samini (pictured) will headline this year’s edition of the Face2Face Africa‘s F.A.C.E. List Awards in New York. The annual FACE List awards will celebrate a cocktail of African pioneers and achievers in Business, Fashion, Entertainment, Health, and other important sectors. Financier Dr. Mo Ibrahim, fashion icon Alek Wek, orthopedic surgeon Dr. Oheneba Boachie-Adjei, Afrobeat singer Femi Kuti, entrepreneur Bethlehem Alemu, and general manager of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors Masai Ujiri will be honored for their outstanding contributions and positive representation of the African continent.

Samini is an award-winning musician with international recognition. He won the “Best African Act” at the 2006 MOBO Awards and won three awards at the 2007 Ghana Music Awards. He is also the recipient the “African Artiste of the Year” award at the 2008 Headies and has performed alongside Sean Paul, Akon, Kevin Little, Shaggy, Wayne Wonder, Damien Marley, Bennie Man, Jay-Z, Chaka Demus & Pliers, Culture (of Blessed Memory), and Steel Pulse.

Consequently, Samini has received international recognition and toured the U.K., Germany, Italy, Canada, and the Netherlands.

Actor and TV personality Chris Attoh will be hosting with Sandra Appiah, COO of Face2Face Africa.

The F.A.C.E. List Awards will take place Saturday, July 26th, at the Skirball Center in New York and will include a dazzling star-studded Red Carpet session and feature a impressive collection of artistes. The program is sponsored by State Farm,  Arik Airlines, Peace Corps, and hosted in partnership with the Permanent Observer Mission of the African Union to the UN, IBom LLC., and Africa 2.0. Media partners include the Network Journal, Black Enterprise, Ventures Africa, Citi Fm, and Innov8tiv Magazine.
