Texas rapper 2 Low narrowly avoided a fatal catastrophe during a live appearance on the YouTube show One on One with Mike D. The 46-year-old artist was discussing his career and future plans when the gun in his pocket was accidentally discharged.
The shocking incident occurred about 47 minutes into the interview, as host Mike D was speaking about life choices. Despite the startling turn of events, no one was injured, as reported by the New York Post.
Footage captures the moment the Texas rapper reaches into the front pocket of his jeans, nodding his head, before a sudden gunshot rings out, causing him to freeze in shock.
“Who shot who?” Mike D asks while looking around the room. “Somebody got shot?”
2 Low can be seen awkwardly grimacing before someone off-camera replies, “No, we’re good.”
The footage shows 2 Low pulling what appears to be part of a gun from his pocket before quickly sliding it back in.
Moments later, the rapper checks on everyone, asking if they were okay.
When asked if he was OK, the rapper looked at his leg and said, “I hope.”
In a video later shared to YouTube, host Mike D explained, “X Rap a lot artist 2 Low almost (gun emoji) himself on camera. Thank God everyone was OK.”
Meanwhile, the rapper wrote on Instagram, “U said u was starting season 2 off wit da Big guns. Da main thang we all safe negativity sells n get dem talking so run it up fam.”
The viral video sparked mixed reactions online, with some viewers expressing concern over the gun’s safety being off, while others dismissed the incident as a publicity stunt or found humor in the situation.
“Glock with no safety, skin tight jeans, 1 in chamber, no holster, on drugs, start fidgeting in his pocket. What could go wrong?” a person wrote.
Another commentator joked that the interview had “started off with a bang.”
