Mike Tyson was probably facing imminent danger after an unidentified man pulled out a gun during a dispute at a comedy show he was attending. But the boxing legend maintained his calm and even hugged the man after he put the gun away.
According to TMZ, the Tuesday incident unfolded during a comedy show at a rooftop bar in Hollywood. And among the show’s guests were Tyson and some of his friends. The event was, however, interrupted after the unidentified and armed man walked up to Tyson and tried having a conversation with him.
In the video of the incident, Tyson is seen seated as a man approaches him and tries to initiate a conversation. And though the footage is inaudible, eyewitnesses reportedly said the man was trying to challenge Tyson to a fight because he supposedly wanted to make a name for himself.
Tyson, however, remains calm and seated and does not entertain the man. A man identified as the host/MC of the show is later seen asking the man to leave. But things seemingly escalate and the unidentified man threatens to open fire on the host/MC. He is then seen pulling out what looks like a gun before cocking it. Bystanders ended up scrambling for cover as a result.
Fortunately, though, the man did not open fire. But he walked up to Tyson again and asked him not to report the incident to the police, TMZ reported. And though Tyson did not engage the man, he eventually stood up and hugged him.
The man ultimately left the event. But the incident reportedly forced other people to leave because of security reasons. Tyson also left afterward.
