A waiter at a restaurant in Nebraska expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Jason Derulo after the award-winning singer handed him a $5,000 tip for serving him and his family. In a TikTok post on Tuesday, Charleston’s Restaurant waiter, Jordan Schaffer, said the tip he received was enough to cover his college semester fees, CBS News reported.
Besides thanking the Jiggle Jiggle singer for his kind gesture, Schaffer, in the video, also said serving Derulo and his family will never be erased from his mind. “Hey Jason, thank you, you just paid for a semester of my college. I can’t say thank you enough,” said Schaffer in the video. “I hope you and your family have a wonderful time in Omaha, and I hope you see us again. Thank you so much.”
Getting to the end of the video, Schaffer held up the receipt to display the sizeable tip. The total amount paid was $5,795. Derulo, 33, responded to Schaffer’s appreciation post in his comments section, saying the waiter came off as “a great person.” The singer also expressed his gratitude to Schaffer, thanking him for taking care of his family at the restaurant.
This isn’t the first time Derulo has performed a commendable deed. In 2020, a 14-year-old leukemia patient going through chemotherapy was surprised with a virtual visit by the Whatcha Say singer and Will Smith, CBS Texas reported.
