Every once in a while, a child with unique abilities captures the world’s attention, and Adhara Pérez Sánchez, an autistic 11-year-old girl, has become such a phenomenon. Born in 2011 in Tláhuac, Mexico, Adhara was diagnosed with Asperger syndrome at the age of 3 and faced bullying in school due to her condition, leading her to change schools. However, with the support of her parents, who believed in her abilities, Adhara persevered and is now reaping the rewards of her determination.

Commonly, young children with Asperger’s Syndrome face challenges in social interaction and often exhibit rigid and repetitive behavior and thinking patterns. However, Adhara defies these stereotypes. Boasting an Intelligence Quotient (IQ) of 162, which surpasses that of renowned scientists Stephen Hawking and Albert Einstein, she has become a shining example of Black girl magic.

While some skeptics have raised eyebrows at Adhara’s achievements, as children her age are typically still learning basic concepts, she continues to amaze the world with her extraordinary talents. Adhara completed elementary school at the age of five and middle school and high school at the age of six, leaving everyone astounded. This child genius has already obtained a degree in Systems Engineering and is now pursuing a master’s in Industrial Engineering.

Adhara dreams of becoming an astronaut and working with NASA, aiming to become the first Mexican woman to travel to space. She has even delivered talks about her deep interest and knowledge in aerospace.

In 2021, she was recognized by the Senate of the Republic, hailed as one of Mexico’s 100 most influential women, and featured on the cover of Marie Claire Mexico.
