A former Metropolitan Detention Center inmate, who reportedly claimed that he was in the same housing unit as Sean “Diddy” Combs, opened up about how the embattled music executive had been spending his time behind bars.
Per XXL, the former inmate told Fox 5 New York journalist Lisa Evers that he was initially housed in the same unit as Combs, 55. Evers posted their conversation on her Instagram page and wrote that the former inmate spoke with her on the condition of anonymity “due to his personal safety concerns.” Evers also said his voice had been “altered as an additional layer to protect his privacy.”
“EX- MDC INMATE WAS IN SAME HOUSING UNIT FOR A TIME WITH SEAN ‘DIDDY’ COMBS. HE TELLS ME DIDDY APPEARED TO STAY POSITIVE, AND TRIED TO LIFT THE SPIRITS OF THE OTHER DETAINEES,” she also captioned on her November 9 post.
The former inmate described Combs’ energy in jail as “super sure”, adding that the 55-year-old and over 20 other men are held in a dorm-style area that is outside a cell. He said Combs works out and plays basketball to while away time, stating further that the Bad Boy Records founder also spreads positivity to other inmates.
“There’s one thing he does everyday,” the former inmate said. “He’ll walk around and say, ‘Smile, man.’ And people will smile. That’s how laid-back it is in there.”
The former inmate also made mention of Diddy’s “groupies.” “They were groupies,” he claimed. “They was being around him. Dudes would be jealous of another dude ’cause he was closer to another dude. If there was a dude making his bed for him, or doing something special for him, they would hate on a dude like that.”
As previously reported by Face2Face Africa, Combs, 55, was arrested by federal agents on September 16 and charged with sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Combs, who entered a not-guilty plea, is being held without bail at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. His trial date has been set for May 5, 2025. But the Bad Boy Records founder is additionally facing multiple sexual assault lawsuits.
