WWE superstar Chelsea Green has alleged she was ejected from a New York City hotel because the hotel staff mistook her for an escort due to her appearance.
Green, who was in town for “Monday Night Raw,” detailed the alleged experience on social media on Wednesday, saying that her attempt to enjoy a night out in New York City was disrupted when The Plaza Hotel staff targeted her based on her appearance.
Recounting her experience, she stated that she and a friend arrived at The Plaza’s Champagne Bar around 5:45 PM on Tuesday to enjoy a drink before attending a Broadway show, only to be asked to leave because they were not hotel guests.
However, when TMZ contacted The Champagne Bar, it confirmed that it is indeed open to the public. She recalled how a bystander witnessed the incident and invited her and her friend into the bar. However, upon passing security, staff became agitated, screaming something along the lines of, “Get back here. We aren’t playing your games. We know what you’re doing here,” she said.
Green said she took offense to the implication, attributing it to her outfit – a white off-the-shoulder top, denim skirt, brown boots, and dark coat. Disturbed by the encounter, she briefly left the area before returning to address the matter with the front desk.
The WWE superstar claimed she was “pissed” and “embarrassed” after the incident. Despite her attempt to address the situation with a manager, she faced further challenges, including being chased by three new security guards and feeling mocked by their presence.
Eventually, she and her friend decided to leave, with staff accompanying them until their departure.
Green is optimistic that the hotel will review surveillance footage and recognize her innocence in the situation.
She eagerly awaits a potential apology, remaining hopeful as she waits for a response.
