Well, like or not, it’s arguably a fact that almost all reported sexual harassment cases on men are mostly ridiculed by both sexes.
Men who tend to report these cases instead of being supported are rather overlooked, perceived as “weak” and sometimes framed as men who display “fragile masculinity”.
This is, however, rather unfortunate. The prompt attention and seriousness that is mostly given to reported female sexual harassment cases should also reciprocate to those of men.
A Twitter user by name @geokaycee recently shared a post about how a girl made sexual advances at him when she apparently realized he was drunk. Even though he resisted her advances, she still persisted.
Take a look at his tweets below:
A girl tried to take advantage of me last night. She saw I was high on alcohol and she was touching me in a very ungodly manner.

She kept trying to grab my crotch. I kept removing her hand. Guys don’t talk to strangers when you are drunk.
— Kenechukwu (@geokaycee) July 30, 2018
Be it sarcasm or not, a huge chunk of the response he got (from men) delved towards the extreme seriousness of the issue and how it would have been treated had the tables turned, that is if it had rather happened to a woman.
my heart bleeds seeing this….
hope you are alright,.. talk to someone about this— Enigma’s Anomaly (@RichieSuazo) July 30, 2018
I’m shaking as I’m typing this. Sorry bro. Women are scum.
— The GodKing (@BATTLETIDE) July 30, 2018
Wow. Stay safe King. No man should go through stuffs like this. Talk to someone about it.

It’s a pathetic situation we have found ourselves in this generation. Ladies raping or taking advantage of poor and helpless men. Parents need to do more in training their daughters. Parents should constantly discuss consent with their daughters. God help male gender.
— Ambassador (@SenatorTfad) July 31, 2018
Wow. Sorry you had to go through that. Will DM details of a couple therapists that can see you for free.
— A great guy (@MisterGozie) July 31, 2018
Wow! This is just wrong on so many levels. Did you get any information about her? She should be prosecuted. You can’t do this and go scott free. Please send a dm, my lawyers will take it from there. ???
— The man who never lied (@pun_actor) July 31, 2018
No one deserves to go through what you went through. I am so sorry bro.
— FIT (@tweetKOBO) July 30, 2018
Bro, you might be in denial right now. I might recommend you go get help, talk to a professional about this. Or better still, check yourself into rehab, no man should ever have to go through this alone. We have to stick together. ????????
— Kelvinbagwell® (@kelvinbagwell02) July 30, 2018
Honestly sorry you went through such an uncomfortable/invasive moment, no1 deserves to.
I know that most people are being dicks about it, bt I read other comments and there’s some support. I’m glad we’re in an era where men can talk about things like this.
Hope you get over it— KungFu Conny ✨ (@IAmConradJay) July 31, 2018
I’m literally shaking rn, these women are so disgusting
— Professor Labamba (@prinzgbemi) July 31, 2018
A curious and confused user tried finding out if the comments were mere sarcasm:
The comments in this tweet tho’ Is it still sarcasm? Because I’m getting confused by the replies
— OmoluwabiofLagos (@hawnsgist) July 31, 2018
Here are some of the responses the user got:
Why? Because Men cannot be taken advantage of? He was drunk and she tried to grab his penis!. Thank God for his life, it would have been a different story by now. Women need to teach their daughters to do better. No means no. Stop taking advantage of drunk men.
— Active man (@29lucidthoughts) July 31, 2018
Why are you confused? Will you be confused if it was a woman reporting the case? I was hoping I’d see a stupid comment from a lady, and I found yours. See what we say about feminism? So it’s sarcasm to express condolence to man that was taken advantage of,by a lady, when drunk. Ode

Oh, it’s sarcasm when it happens to a guy. When it happens to a female it’s a serious matter ?
— Абрахам (@Abraham_Obubo) July 31, 2018
Have your say on this. What’s your take on sexual harassment of men by women? Why isn’t it mostly taken seriously?
