Zimbabwe’s first and highly controversial president, Robert Mugabe, might not have been loved entirely by the Western world, but back home in Zimbabwe and in many parts of Africa, he was a darling boy.
Described in many instances as a dictator who overstayed his welcome, Mugabe always had an epic response to calls and demands on him and his country to change policies or bend their rules in favour of global trends.
Even until his last days, the former president of Zimbabwe was known to be a fighter, never going down easily without a fight.
The last time he was heard of or seen, he was captured in photos shared by his family while receiving medical treatment in Singapore, where he eventually died.
