Ibtihaj Muhammad
Muhammed is a renowned sabre fencer and a member of the United States fencing team. Born in New Jersey on December 4, 1985, she became the first Muslim-American woman to wear a hijab during the Olympic ceremonies and earn a medal. In 2014, she and her siblings launched a clothing line called Louella which she hopes will open a market for modest wear in the U.S. In 2017, Mattel formulated a Barbie in her likeness – adorned with a hijab and all.
