Chakalaka with pap (Vegetable stew with corn meal)
The typical Chakalaka is a combination of onions, tomatoes, and curry powder.
The other variations include tomatoes, grated carrots, onions, chilies, minced fresh ginger (added with the onions), cubed fried potatoes, shredded cabbage or chopped cauliflower (added after the tomatoes and simmered until cooked).
A typical meal for the vegetarians, it is laced with all the nutrients the body needs to keep fit.
