Alpha Yaya Diallo
Alpha Yaya Diallo is a guitarist, singer, and songwriter who lives in Vancouver, Canada but born in Guinea-Conakry. With his mother from Senegal, Diallo moved around the country a lot with his father who was a surgeon.
His passion for the art prompted him to teach himself how to play various musical instruments for pleasure and alongside music groups including The Sons of Ra’is and Syli Authentique and the Fatala group associated with Peter Gabriel’s music label.
His first album released in 1996 won him the Juno, for The Message in 1999 in the “Best World Music Album” category. He won more in 2002 and 2004.
