Imagine the struggles women had to endure in the past; to be disabled was worse.
They had to battle with the notion of being less human, the unfavourable archaic medical systems and, especially, the suffering of surviving as a disabled woman of colour.
Nevertheless, there are hundreds of stories of black disabled women who lived fulfilling their purpose and made significant impacts in their various fields and era.
More often than not, many of these black historical figures have had their disabilities hushed or obliterated when talking about their exploits.
