Badagry Black Heritage Museum – Nigeria

For anyone looking to trace some of the oldest slave routes in Africa, the Badagry Black Heritage Museum is a good starting point. Filled with so much history itself, the town of Badagry was one of West Africa’s first slave ports and ancient settlements and today boasts of several old buildings. While in the museum, a visitor can take a tour of the slave routes. The museum is also home to several monuments and artefacts that date over 300 years old which have been well preserved. Visitors can plan and personalize their own trip to the museum and also stay in the town to have a feel of 14th century Africa.
