Oppikoppi Festival
Celebrated in the mining town of Northam, South Africa, is the music festival, “Oppikoppi” which literally means, “on a hill”. Since 1944, it’s been held on a farm till now; making it one of South Africa’s longest-running music festivals. Attendees pay for tickets which allow them to camp on the farm for a minimum of three days to experience the festival. Oppikoppi started with rock music but now includes other genres like Jazz, house music, punk, ska and acoustic. It usually takes place in August and will start from the 9th to 11th this year.
