In Uganda, a group of entrepreneurs have just begun producing what they call organic hair from banana fibres.

The hair product was just introduced this week during the National Agricultural Research Organisation workshop in Uganda.

This organic hair extension is expected to have a competitive edge over the synthetic ones which have been blamed for their harmful effects on the environment.

In 2015, a startup company in Kenya also announced that it was making human hair extensions from a banana stalk.
